GDR/DDR Style German VHS TV Logo (with sound design, After Effects and VHS)

I have a case of “Ostalgia”, a Berlinner word for someone who loves the style of Communist East Germany. I decided to make a VHS intro logo in the style of an East German company.

The animation itself is made in After Effects, it’s simple in order to imitate the animation available at the time.

The animation was recorded to VHS and recaptured at SD, then AI upscaled to 4K for YouTube to prevent compression destroying the video.
