Approaching the “difficult third album” isn’t that difficult, you just have to be artistically honest!

For Sam’s third I pulled in Sam Inglis (esteemed Editor In Chief of Sound On Sound Magazine) to engineer the recording and do some production, while I worked on production mixing and mastering.

We were trying to grab the vibe of a solo artist experimenting with ideas that backed up rather than got in the way of the songs, arrangements that would support not distract.

The goal was to get an edge of the punk vibe while being authentically solo acoustic too.
